Luis Vidal
Founder and President of luis vidal + architects, he graduated with a degree in Architecture and honours from the University of Greenwich. He is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the American Institute of Architects of New York (AIA NY) and the College of Architects of Madrid (COAM).
In 2004, he established the global architecture practice luis vidal + architects. Since then, he has led the design of numerous projects recognized for their innovation and sustainability, including the new Colón Towers in Madrid, and more than 30 airport projects, among them the new Terminal 2, “The Queen’s Terminal”, at London Heathrow Airport, the world’s first airport terminal to be awarded the BREEAM Excellent rating for its sustainable design, also named World’s Best Airport Terminal and World’s Best Public Building.
More recent airport projects include the expansion of Terminal 4 and 4S at Madrid Barajas Airport, and the final stages of development for Dallas-Fort Worth Terminal D and AMB in Santiago, Chile. He is also the “vision and concept design architect” for the new international terminals at Pittsburgh and Boston Logan Airports.
