Luis Vidal founded luis vidal + arquitects in 2004, opening the Madrid Studio that very same year. In 2005, the Studio won the bid for Zaragoza Airport, with which they were finalists in the Mies Van der Rohe award, together with the Reina Sofía Museum Restaurant, which also received an award. The Practice consolidated its international presence with Terminal 2, "The Queen's Terminal” at Heathrow Airport. From its offices in London, the team worked on what, to date, is its most awarded project: it was the first airport terminal in the world to achieve the BREEAM excellence award, recognition which is just one of more than 27 awards.

In 2014 it was opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

In 2013 luis vidal + architects opened an office in Santiago de Chile. With a team of 45 people with multidisciplinary profiles, combining technique, technology and creativity equally, the Santiago de Chile office is currently one of the most important architecture offices in the country. Consolidated thanks to their excellence and deep knowledge of the Chilean landscape, luis vidal + architects has also received the highest recognition from the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) by being named the Best MOP Concessions Consultancy Firm by the Chilean government.

In the Dominican Republic, luis vidal + architects has established itself as a reference point in innovation, combining local knowledge with international expertise that positions the Studio as one of the leaders in the country’s architecture.

Amongst their most important projects, highlights include:

Santiago de los Caballeros New International Airport, Healthcare Complexes, Netclinic Medical Center, Ezalia Office Lofts, Patio Embajada, Studio Legal Corporate Tower, Salas Piantini Campus, Samaná Urban and Territory Strategic Plan and Centro León in Ciudad Colonial Santo Domingo.

2015 is the year of the Practice's arrival in the United States. From the Miami office, Luis Vidal and his team have spent years leading some of the most important airport terminal projects in the country, highlighting:

· Boston Logan International Airport Terminal E Modernization

· Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport Terminal D Expansion

It is the first Spanish practice to design a space port, the Colorado Space and Air Port.

2023 marks another milestone in the growth of luis vidal + architects, with the opening of a new studio in Dallas from where important projects are led.

Present-Day

With a diverse and inclusive team that covers 15 nationalities, and with the constant arrival of new exciting projects, the Studio continues its unstoppable expansion, with an eye on new countries, continents and building typologies.
