Competition by invitation to select the team that will develop the Architectural and Landscaping Project on the Plot AUR-D, Unit 35, in the PAU-21 sector, included in the General Urban Plan of Orihuela (Las Colinas Golf & Country Club).
The goal of the competition is to obtain an original design, with programmatic and structural solutions, making the best possible use of the topography and the natural environment. Double-orientation houses provide multiple views of the landscape, while preserving the residents’ privacy. Furthermore, recreational and landscaped areas are integrated with the existing nature.
The program analysis and the functional layout, together with a study of different ways of placing the building on the site (compact, tiered, scattered, etc.), were a starting point for the project. The functional program is reinforced with sensory experiences, achieved through the use of light, water, sound, textures, color, etc. and with three axes (lines of action) that are complementary to the intervention.
Residential axis: hosts the building infrastructure and the degree of its continuity and density will depend on the housing type finally chosen.
Recreational axis: acts as a transition between the built areas and the natural environment, where the facilities destined for community activities are integrated with the landscape and form part of it.
Tranquility axis: allows enjoying a direct visual and physical connection with nature and the surrounding ecosystem.
