Generali building

Located in Madrid’s  financial quarter, AZCA, Generali’ headquarters in the city were designed by Pedro Casariego in the 70’s. In response to the insurance company´s wish to fully remodel its building, luis vidal + architects proposes an elegant, singular, fexible and sustainable design that generates high-quality space, adds value to the building and looks to the future, positioning it at the forefront of sustainability, energy eficiency and the latest trends in technology and comfort.

In our new design, the large volume of the existing building is articulated in a set of 5 pieces. Each piece reacts to its surroundings and urban expectations, improving accessibility -achieved by separating the lobbies (north and south façades) from entrances to the shops; connectivity – thanks to a better definition of covered entrances; and redefining the public space through the removal of architectural barriers and obsolete urban furniture.
