Vigo Harbor Masterplan

The proposal is to provide the city with more modern and sustainable infrastructures that generate a new source of resources for the city and towns attached to the estuary.

These include: expanding the marina, extending the cruise ship dock, recovering the front of the estuary, and bringing the city closer to the sea. Among the options proposed by the design team are:

  • A Marina: as a starting point for the new route system that will grow to encompass the entire estuary.
  • An island: a park for the 21st century forming a new floating square interconnected with the city center.
  • An inlet: the river approaches the historic front of the city and its hubs enter the estuary through breakwaters.

The first step towards the creation of a more sustainable city
